This was a ship carved by a sailor who was interned on Torrens Island.
The ship was given to Corporal V.R.Sedgwick 78th Infantry stationed as a guard in 1915.

TORRENS ISLAND THROUGH THE EYES OF V.R. SEDGWICK ( seated above in the middle row on right ) 1914-1915.
Vic Sedgewick was a young guard at Torrens Island Concentration Camp,
before he went overseas to fight on the Western Front, during the Great War 1914-1918.
These images were his and they were sent to Minnie ,his girlfriend, who would later become his wife.
